Saturday June 20, 2026 -Operation Kindness & BJ’s Restaurant Event
We will not be meeting at the Icehouse in June.
Brian has provided detailed information regarding items needed and how to get them through Amazon where there is a wide variety of options. If you don’t want to use the Amazon option you might consider donating, hand sanitizer, gently used towels from home, leashes, dog or cat toys, disposable poop bags, unscented baby wipes and even left over medical supplies you might have at home such as gauze, bandages, disposable gloves. Think of things needed to run an organization that cares for a lot of animals and you will fill a need. This is an opportunity to be seen in our community doing something fun and good at the same time. Operation Kindness will likely be taking photos and possibly posting on their social media. We are hoping for a strong turnout to support this effort.
At 10 am Saturday we will meet at the Operation Kindness Shelter located at 3201 Earhart Drive, Carrolton, Texas (972-418-7297). They will greet and welcome us in their parking lot at 10 am with our “gifts” for the shelter in our “trunks” (for those who wish to donate items to the shelter – donations are optional). After some pictures and presenting our gifs (and an additional check from CCT) they will host private tour for us, finishing by approximately 11 am.
They suggested that the best way to select pet gifts to donate for their shelter would be to access their website: http://www.operationkindness.org
Select the tab “Ways to give”
Then select the tab “Other ways to give”
Scroll down to the tab “Shopping Programs”
They have wish lists on Amazon and Chewy. We recommend Amazon, since it seems easier to change the delivery address to your home so you can bring them with you to the shelter. The default is when you select items for their wish list is for the item(s) to be sent directly to Operation kindness.
After our tour of the shelter, we will caravan (departing around 11:15 am) to BJ’s restaurant in Addison (Dallas) for our club luncheon.
If you have any questions about this event, please contact Brian or Janet Gelles at 972-754-4553
If you are interested in attending or already planning to attend, please notify Brian/Janet or Deb/Mike so a head count can be identified for both the shelter and the restaurant
Please RSVP so Brian and Janet can get a count for the Operation Kindness Tour and for the lunch seating reservation.
We look forward to seeing you and your Corvette at the Operation Kindness Shelter facility.
